a. Temperate Horticultural crops (शीतोष्ण बागवानी फसलें):- In temperate regions, the temperature in winter season falls below freezing point. The crops shed their leaves and go into rest. These chilling temperatures help the plants to put forth new growth. Flowering and fruiting start with the onset of spring.

(समशीतोष्ण क्षेत्रों में शीत ऋतु में तापमान हिमांक बिंदु से नीचे चला जाता है। फसलें अपने पत्ते गिरा देती हैं और विश्राम की स्थिति में चली जाती हैं। ये ठंडा तापमान पौधों को नई वृद्धि देने में मदद करता है। वसंत की शुरुआत के साथ ही पुष्प और फल लगने शुरू हो जाते हैं।)
